Things with wings

Today for a change I’m posting a birthday card which I’ve made.  I started with a blank butterfly gate-fold card from the fabulous WhichCraftUK (you can see the range here).

008The papers are from a pad which I picked up at Walmart.  I used them to cover the front either side of the butterfly, the two halves of the butterfly and also inside.  I decided to use a ribbon to wrap around the front, tied in a bow.

004Once opened you’ll see that what was folded flat now opens out and folds down so that the butterflies appear to be floating behind the sentiment.  I used butterflies from a large Woodware stamp, coloured with ProMarkers, cut them out and attached to thin strips of acetate.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Divas by Design – Things with wings

I Love ProMarkers – Things with wings

Crafty Sentiments – Anything Goes

Cute Card Thursday – Pretty Papers

Thank you for looking.

What beautiful card. I like how you designed the inside. What fantastic idea to have the inside of card fold down and the butterflies are behind the sentiment. Just fabulous. 😀
